A Day in the Vinyard Part I

Muffie and I were blessed with the opportunity to fly to Santa Rosa last Friday and tour the Gallo Family private Frei and MacMurray Ranches. Thank you to our husbands, Bill and Bobby, who made this day possible for us!
As you can see from the pictures, it was a beautiful day! We had such a good time enjoying God's creation.
The day started at the Sky Trek Executive terminal in Modesto with our flight at 8:25am. We showed up at 8:15 and were the first in our group of 8 to arrive. This is the way to fly, no check in, no waiting, just a plane waiting for us outside the door, all we needed to do was board and take off.

The flight to Santa Rosa was about 30 minutes and it was an unusually clear day, so we could see SF and the Golden Gate nicely.

Here we are in front of our awaiting tour bus. I joked with Muffie that we might need to invest in a vehicle this size to shuttle our two families around together!

We began our tour at the Frei Ranch house. The house was paneled with wood from the aging barrels. It was a beautiful setting.

Muffie is here studying the map they gave us of the Sonoma and Napa valley Gallo vinyards.

Next was a tour into the heart of the Frei Ranch vinyard, I don't have to mention again how beautiful the day was, you can see for youself...

How convenient, a table set up in the middle of the vinyard for tasting, they thought of everything.

I loved the colors of the leaves, so I took many, many pictures of them...

Our group...

Next we were back at the Frei Ranch house for a delicious tri tip lunch... coming up next in Part II. (This is getting a little long and I am getting complaints that I have not posted anything lately, and I have a lot more photos to go!!!) So check back tomorrow for part II.
