Funny things kids do...

I am about to post an unflattering picture of our child, and he will not like it when he is older, but we will deal with that when we get there, it's just too funny. First off, Robert decided to slather himself with baby lotion, that is the goop in his hair. The funny thing is that Bella did the exact same thing when she was his age. I am looking through my photos now to see if I can find her incident but can't seem to find it, I will post it later if I do. Now the next photos are of the traditional child picking things off their face and eating them. Bill has been talking to Robert about not eating his boogers, well, not picking them either, and ended up capturing the evidence. It is just too funny to not share, so I apologize to anyone out there who is grossed out, but when you have 5 little ones, there is a lot of this stuff...It just makes me laugh now. It's amazing how God gives you these beautiful children to care for, they are even cute when picking boogers and eating them too.

If you missed the last one, here is another one.

Who can resist such a face?

Indiana William

We just celebrated William's 5th birthday and he opted for an Indiana Jones theme, as you can see in the picture. Though they have never seen the movies, the kids have been going around the house now with their whips - or chinese yo yo's I found online, pretending to be Indiana Jones. Will did get a nice "realistic" whip with sounds and everything from the Cowan's which he likes very much. It is his accessory of choice at the moment... PJ's and whip on the shoulder, shorts for swimming and the whip, walking around the house and you guessed it, the whip is in it's place. Even relaxing on the couch taking in a movie - the whip is never far...
Needless to say, William really enjoyed his birthday along with his new treasures.

This last week...

The York household has been doing very well adjusting this last week to our new little brother. We have had wonderful meals delivered each night from various church families and I have had a chance to rest and start feeling back to my old self. It seems like with each pregnancy the recovery time gets a little faster and easier. Or it could be that I have more to look after and less time to think about it, so we just get back into our routine.
Today we ventured out to the church swim day and then I did my first trip to Costco with 5 kiddos. I am running out of space in that cart for all of the food these kids eat. We enjoyed the free samples today...the best was the pan fried cheese station, we hit that one about four times, I bought some because I felt bad that we ate so many of the samples :). It was yummy. I only got a few looks from people, the look that says - are they all hers?? I feel like an attraction at times - look at that lady with all of those kids! But they sure are good helpers, Bella and Will help in the store and have learned how to unload the car with me now. They even help me put the groceries away in the pantry, etc. I love it. It is definitely a team effort.
Overall, we just love our new addition, he is a perfect fit. The kids love to look at him and kiss him, it is so sweet. I have to say, Winston is such a sweet and easy baby...we might not be finished with just 5, time will tell.

I am posting some more photos from the photo shoot Beckie did for us the day we got home from the hospital. I love your work Beckie! I don't like posting my own photos because they pale in comparison to hers...Thanks for sharing your God given talent with us!

At the Hospital

On Thursday, June 26th, 2008 we arrived at the hospital to deliver our 5th child. This day was extra special because it is also Uncle Bobby's birthday.

We had a fun time waiting for our new arrival. The birth attendees were Bill, my mom, Patty, Aunt Shirley, my Sister in Law Nicole and my sister Muffie. We also had my sister Diana on the phone a few times. Because we could only get 4 guests in the room, we had take turns with visiters a few times. Lisa and Becky came by for a while and Grandma Mary also stopped by to say hello.

Thanks to Beckie and her wonderful photographic talent, we have these great pictures of us awaiting the arrival.
