It's School Time

We have started back into the swing of things with homeschool. I thought I would teach all summer and continue through, but with our new addition my plans did not quite work out. But considering it was summer, and I knew I had a lot of flexibility, so we worked on assignments about 2-3 days out of the week. Sometimes it was only one day a week :). Well the kids are being merged back into the full work week which means no DVD's during the day and staying on task with their assignments until they are completed or Mom is satisfied with the effort :). I would have to say that I am easing them back in...we started two weeks ago and I have gradually added in an additional day, etc. etc. This week we cut out the movies completely - again, we have been slowly weaning off of them these past weeks, I am not that mean :). I have given the kiddies an incentive of working hard during the week with school and chores and then they can watch a show on Saturday. I think if I allowed, they could watch movies all day! In addition to playing too.
Overall we have had a nice summer. The kids had a blast with playing in the sprinklers when it was hot, we had nice relaxed enjoyable days. It is nice though to get back into our structured routine though and everyone is doing well with the adjustments, only a few complaints here and there.
God is so good, he makes each season such a perfect length that you start looking forward to the next one right before it comes.
Well, on another note, soon to come will be wonderful pictures of the family ala Beckie Woodfield. We will be taking photos with her this Thursday and I am excited to see how they turn out! She does such wonderful work!

Beckie posted some photos for me on flickr, these are ones she has not put on her blog, so I thought I would share. I love her work!
At the moment I am writing this blog while nursing. It is a little hard for me to just sit and nurse and not do something else, so I am mastering the one handed typing thing while replying to emails and posting pictures. I am getting faster at this too. Thought I would share such critical information :). Well, off to give the baby a bath and check on the kids school work.

Spiderman theme and more...

I just found the Spiderman theme by Michael Buble - how cool is that? Now, considering that I have two boys who enjoy this superhero, you would say cool too, and I get to enjoy the Buble part. Robert likes walking around with William's mask and says, and I quote, (Mask down) "I'm Spiderman" (Mask Up) "I'm Peter Parker." I have to say, it is funny, trust me.

Well, this week we started our last session of swim lessons. Bella and William are doing so well, I love watching them learn more and more each day. I was happily surprised to see the Sauer boys and Nicole there, Andrew takes lessons the session right before ours. I am hoping Nicole and I will get a chance to talk a little since we both have to keep an eye out for the kiddos so much at church! After our session, Caroline Riddle has lessons, so we are surrounded by friends.

Bella and I also had dentist appointments today. I must be getting old, I cracked my first tooth and went to the dentist today and had to get a crown, or at least a temporary one and the new one comes in, in two weeks, yeah for me. Bella had an appointment later in the afternoon, can you say a busy day? The kids love our dentist, they actually have fun there. Bella just talks and talks and they love it. She let them know that her dad had said she was not brushing enough because her bottom teeth are a little yellowed. The hygenist let me know that I could tell her dad that she is brushing just fine and that is the color of her teeth...It was just funny because only Bella would be so open and sharing of the family info..hee hee. We found out she has some crowding of her teeth so off to the Orthodontist we go, I called Bill right away to give him the good news.

I am my mom's first little bundle of joy!

I praise God for these little blessings! May He be glorified in all that we do as a family and in the lives of these children!

Winston is a month old

Beckie took some adorable pictures of Winston, he is growing so fast! He is already a month old, it's amazing how time flies... He is such a good baby and I sure do think he is cute, but considering I am his mom I guess I am a little biased. We sure are having fun with this guy! He fits in perfectly and loves all of the noise, so he is a keeper...

Fun at Gavin's Birthday

This past week was cousin Gavin's birthday and we celebrated it with a Speed Racer party, we even got to drive racecars at Funworks. The kids had a blast. Beckie and Rueben joined us to help as racecar drivers, as all of the kiddos were to young to drive on their own. So us old moms got the chance to race around the track. My race driving partner was William, we had a lot of fun!
While we were there, Beckie took some adorable pictures of the kids. If you have seen her blog, then you have already seen them, but I had to share again, I just love her work!
